Dear Sir/Madam,
After more than a decade of reforming, Vietnam has seen dramatic social and economic changes which have been compared as “a dragon waking up after its winter sleep.” It has really been a long journey with significant milestones and with Vietnamese entrepreneurs having to put their every effort into global competition. That competition led to many significant changes, and also helped to establish an initial platform for Vietnamese entrepreneurs to strongly prosper and grow. However, Vietnamese entrepreneurs still lag behind others in this new international competition.
We are full of aspiration and potential. Yet we are still deficient in one vital area: our foundation of global knowledge. Our standing in the international business community has not reflected our potentials and strengths. As a nation, Vietnam had not been afforded the opportunity to fully participate in development of our sleeping spirit of entrepreneurship.
New opportunities lay ready for us to grasp. Here and now, we devote ourselves to preventing succeeding generations to remain mired in this way of the past. At IPL, we are determined; we devote our efforts to reversing this situation. This is the biggest common precept shared among all in our Board of Founding Members.
From this concept, the IPL project was born. The IPL project will gather the best young and outstanding people with leadership potential throughout the country and sponsor their participation in modern, high-quality international training programs, aiming to transform them from “potential leaders” to our “talented leaders” of the future, all at no charge to selected participants.
We hope that from this project, the first “Institute of Potential Leaders” of Vietnam will establish themselves as a new starting point for our aspirations and firmly position our country on the world’s up-and-coming educational map. This project will help develop a new land of plenty and prosperity from the many leadership seeds we will cultivate and harvest. We hope that this IPL will be established and supported not only by Vietnamese entrepreneurs and intellectuals, but also by the whole society. This is also the meaning of “Pay It Forward”
